Orlando Jimenez is a Latino artist born in El Salvador and raised in the United States. Orlando draws his artistic inspiration from Japanese comic books (manga) but includes a Latino touch in his own work. Learning About a Different Heritage shows the adventure of an alien named Nebula who reconsiders her invasion of the Earth after meeting a Latino she tries to abduct. To her surprise, she becomes fascinated by the human’s generosity to share aspects of his culture with her. Through this comic, Orlando shares a message of acceptance and appreciation of each other’s differences.
